I care about the message, not the medium

I got my start in newspapers, but I’m beginning to accept that their future isn’t very bright.

I don’t think the same can be said of a lot of my newspaper colleagues. For many of them, the newspaper is what they truly love.

I’m not married to newspapers. I never was, and I never will be.

But journalism… Well, that’s something I’ll always believe in.

I would take it a step broader and in a slightly different direction. I’d say I believe in communicating and sharing with people. That to me is more important than journalism. Being able to share ideas with people in a variety of ways covers what I do professionally and personally.

I have posted an article called “The Message Is The Medium” at my blog at http://www.deathoftime.com — I try, based on my four decades of communications experience, to tie together global economic events, forthcoming political change, and a new worldwide communications infrastructure to understand how communications campaigns are about to change — and our culture along with it. Given what I see discussed here, I think this post might intrigue readers.
